Manchester United pursuing Juventus star Adrien Rabiot
According to a report from L'Equipe, Manchester United is actively pursuing the signing of Adrien Rabiot, the 28-year-old midfielder from Juventus and the French national team.
Rabiot's contract with Juventus will expire next June, making him a free agent.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has prioritized signing Rabiot as an "important objective," alongside the pursuit of Tottenham's Harry Kane.
Ten Hag has already held discussions with Rabiot, indicating his interest in the player.
Last summer, Rabiot and Ten Hag were in contact, and talks have recently intensified on the initiative of the Dutch coach. Rabiot has expressed his desire to experience Premier League football, although Newcastle United is also interested in signing the striker.
Nevertheless, Manchester United seems to be the frontrunner in fulfilling Rabiot's dream of playing in England.
Manchester United previously attempted to secure Rabiot's transfer to Old Trafford last summer but were unsuccessful.
However, they are now making renewed efforts to finalize the move for the French midfielder.
Rabiot has stated that he does not have a preferred team but is attracted to the league and its level of play, believing it suits his qualities.
Interestingly, Rabiot had briefly signed with Manchester City in 2008 at the age of 13, but the agreement ended after a few months. After a couple of years, Rabiot subsequently became a part of the PSG academy.
Manchester United aims to complete Rabiot's signing as soon as possible. The versatile left-sided midfielder has been enjoying his best season to date, having scored 11 goals in all competitions for Juventus.
